Can Free Samples Be Unethical? Beechnut Baby
When we posted earlier about the free baby bowl sample and the baby bib, it seems that ‘Steve’ claiming to be from the marketing department did not enjoy my cleverly written post and called it unethical. In the post I described how the sample could be used for other purposes than intended, like for a dog rather than a baby.
From the marketing department of Beechnut Baby
“Keep in mind that while the sample would be free to you, it’s costing Beech-Nut two or three bucks to let you have a novel way to feed one of your animals and have a bib-dish rag on hand. Also, supplies are not unlimited, so if you take one, you’re depriving a family with an actual baby from receiving one.”
Our Response
We don’t like to be serious around here, so though we do perscribe other uses for the samples, your intent should really be to get samples that you really intend on uses for their actual purposes. Don’t stick tampons up your nose and don’t use the free dvd as a frisbee. But, then again, don’t listen to us, do whatever you want. They are your samples, so frisbee away or do whatever you do with tampons, clean up messes with them (you’d be surprised how much they soak up.)

Hmmm, I never thought about tampons to clean up messes… What a great idea!

As a nurse we used tampons in emergencies for excessive nose bleeds, for packing a wound when away from anything else for temporary purposes to soak up any messes give it a try they really work wonders
