Have you ever seen the documentary on Jesco White? He was once the last mountain tap dancer. He was from Bandytown, West Virginia. His father, D-Ray White, was known as one of the greatest mountain tap dancers in the United States.  D-Ray was fatally wounded from multiple gunshots by his mortal enemies, the family from the other side of the creek. Hank Williams III (who claims to be a satanist) sang a song about D. Ray on one of his albums.

Jesco was also shot in this altercation, but lived to become famous. He had 3 personalities. Jessie, Jesco and Elvis. Here are the pics of him in those various forms.

an excerpt from wikipedia – “White met his wife Norma Jean on Christmas Eve in 1974 while hitchhiking to a party with a cousin. He had originally intended on robbing her, but instead fell in love.”

Someone, somehow, found this crazy guy and did a documentary about him. PBS originally aired them. A couple more followed. He even appeared on a couple of episodes of Roseanne.

I grew up on the border of WV and I remember meeting real hillbillies frequently. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Don’t take my word for it. Get a free calendar from there!
